The annual Durban international film fest (#DIFF2014) opened as of yesterday and there are just sooo many great films both local and international to get out and see!
Here is the film fest trailer which reveals just some of the great content waiting for Durban.
I love how the film fest has expanded beyond the Wavescape free films on the beach front and now included various showings throughout the week. We'll be there nice and early, claiming our piece of turf for the annual wavescape opening night on the lawns of bay of plenty! It's always a great crowd.
The Wavescape opening has the following line up:
*disguised in nature
*now now
*russia
*intersect black
Also local, the KZNSA gallery near the UKZN Howard College will be showing all kinds of shorts either a 6pm or 8pm showing. Perhaps a great way to see a whole bunch of new content at one go.
City Press released their top five films to watch out for during the festival: http://www.citypress.co.za/entertainment/diff-revenge-zulu-cowboys/
Some of the films which has stuck out in my mind so far:
Amazonia, Miners Shot Down, half of a yellow sun...
I'm still trying to get through the large programme and any recommendations are welcomed!
